Unforgotten Moments: A Visual Exploration of the Images that Remain
The substance of things: real and imagined, disappear. Yet in their disappearance is the unconscious formation and initial stirring of emotion. This thesis is my visual exploration of crossing the un-marked “no-man‘s land” between the genuine and the artificial. By breaching the wall of segregation they make contact and by their uncanny fusion I depict raw emotion: frozen glimpses of an unseen reality framed as still image.
Now soaked into sheets of paper this alchemy melts fragments of moments together to create what I never expressed before. Even insignificant things become instruments to evoke the dreams of my imagination. The viewer can enter if she wishes this in-between and labyrinthine realm unknown even to myself.
